I am honoured to be a member of the international society of typographic designers (istd). A position i achieved through submitting this typography led, experimental project in response to a provided brief.
The brief asked us to reinvent the story of 'Invisible Cities', intrigue new audiences and through the use of typography, transform the reading experience.
Published back in 1972, Italo Calvino's original text layout followed a traditional and complex layout, making the intake of information difficult. This reinforced the importance of typography and readability in the success of a design. Pulling apart the text and brainstorming concepts to translate the information got me immediately hooked.
